Lawan Musa, a 35-year-old Peoples Democratic Party candidate, defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Honourable Ahmed Lawan Mirwa, in the recently concluded 2023 State House of Assembly election in Yobe state.
The Returning Officer, Dr. Habib Muhammad, who announced the results at Nguru on Saturday, said Lawan Musa of the PDP received 6,648 votes to defeat Ahmed Lawan Mirwa of the APC, who received 6,466 votes.
