UN Scribe, Antonio Guterres condemns the dastard Owo attack, urges FG to nab perpetrators

The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres has condemned in the strongest terms last Sunday’s heinous attack in the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, that resulted in the death and injuries of scores of civilians as people gathered for the Pentecost service. 

The Secretary-General in a statement issued in New York, US on Monday and made available to Newsclickng.com emphasized that attacks on places of worship are abhorrent and urged the Nigerian authorities to spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The media statement signed by the Secretary-General’s Spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, extended Mr. Guterres’ heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.

He also expresses his sympathies to, and solidarity with, the Government and people of Nigeria.
