A two-time governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Ogun State, Rotimi Paseda, has vowed to resist the re-election of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun.

According to a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, Paseda made the vow when he met with some political groups and individuals who urged him to lead them to an opposition party.

Speaking at the meeting, Paseda said, “Dapo Abiodun, must go, and anyone in this gathering that is not in support of ‘Dapo Abiodun must go’ can take his or her leave.”

The different groups who want to be identified as Paseda Movement told the former governorship candidate that they could no longer endure the pains of the Abiodun-led All Progressives Congress administration.

In response, he told them that “consultation is in top gear,” while promising to announce the next party as soon as he is done consolidating with elder statesmen and political gladiators in the state and at the national level.

Some of those groups, stakeholders, leaders, statisticians and individuals that attended and spoke at the meeting included Hausa community, OPC Reformed Group, Paseda Political Ambassadors, Omu Youth Association, House of Rep. Candidate, Hon. Shaba John Ategbedekare; Danmaji Hausa, Sakariyau Musa, Otunba (Chief) Oloolu Adenaike, Hon. Olusola Oyapidan, Muhammed Garba Seriki, Prince Adedoyin Mayowa, Engr. Babatunde Folarin, Mrs Azeezat Kogbodoku and others.
