Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, said that no projects had yet been completed in the state by the federal government under President  Muhammadu Buhari.

The governor claimed that the success of the PDP-led government had the people of Rivers State impressed and that they would not squander their votes on any other political party, especially the APC.

Reiterating that the state has been denied access to basic amenities for the past seven years, he said that the people of the state would not support any APC candidates in the general election of 2023.

Wike made this claim following an inspection of the over 13 km Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2 road construction in the state’s Emohua Local Government Area.

The governor thanked God in a voice filled with passion for the honor of having made Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2 accessible by road since Rivers State’s creation in 1967.

“Emotionally, I am touched. I can’t thank God enough for giving me the opportunity to be the person to open up this community.

“What is governance? The whole essence of governance is for people to be happy and having the feeling that their lives will be turned around,” he stated.

He said that the people of Rivers would resoundingly elect the PDP to rule the state in the general election of 2023 based on the effectiveness of his administration.

“We have shown that we have the capacity and what it takes to govern and to govern very well,” he added.

The governor declared that he would advise the new PDP administration to take into account building a bridge to link Rumuodogo towns to Harry’s Town in the state’s Degema Local Government Area.

“By the grace of God, the next incoming government will look at it and see how they can connect here (Rumuodogo) to the riverine area.

“That will be part of our recommendation to the next government which by the grace of God will be a PDP government. The other party, APC, they have been there for almost eight years, they couldn’t do anything,” Wike said.

Governor Wike, who had earlier inspected an on-going road construction in Mgbuitanwo community also in Emohua LGA, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done so far by the contractor, Julius Berger.

“Street lights have been fixed and we are very happy with the quality of work done. You can see how happy the villagers are, even without them knowing that I was coming, they came out to show their appreciation,” the governor said.

Dr. Chidi Lloyd, the chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area, expressed his lifelong gratitude to Governor Wike for approving the construction of the Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2 roads.

In a same vein, Governor Wike was claimed to have demonstrated his ability to keep his word by opening up access to the isolated Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2 communities by road by His Royal Majesty, Nne-Nwe-Eli Emohua XIII (OLO IV), Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse.
