The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the closure Ahmadu Bello Way, from Adeola Odeku Intersection to Adetokunbo Ademola by Eko Hotels Roundabout.

LASTMA disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos entitled: “Traffic advisory for Thursday, December 9, 2021″.

However, the statement was silent on the reasons for the closure but  Newsclickng.com gathered that it may not be unconnected to President Muhammadu Buhari’s expected visit to Lagos on Thursday (tomorrow) for the book launch of elder statesman and a former interim chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande.

The agency also suggested alternative routes for motorists.

“Akin Adesola connecting Ahmadu Bello Way by IMB will be temporarily closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted to Oyin Jolayemi, Oko Awo and Sanusi Fafunwa to connect desired destinations.

“From Ozumba Mbadiwe (Civic Centre) to Adetokunbo Ademola to Eko Hotels Roundabout traffic will be temporarily diverted after Eko Hotels Roundabout to
i) Ajose Adeogun,
