Oluwatobiloba Daniel, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, a Nigerian musician and songwriter, declined to attend a concert in Tanzania, according to Stephen Uwa, a concert promoter in Tanzania.

The musician was detained by Tanzanian authorities on Monday after failing to show up for a paid concert.

Uwa described his interaction with the Buga crooner to media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, often known as Daddy Freeze, on Monday night.

He claimed that because Kizz Daniel was missing his gold chain, he declined to perform at the occasion.

“He (Kizz Daniel) only said the airline didn’t bring his bag that is why he cannot perform. Because his gold chain is not there. And he had a gold chain on his neck. He wanted everything,” Uwa said.

According to the information provided for the promoter, Paul Okoye, also known as Paul O, who heads Upfront and Personal Global, was responsible for booking Kizz Daniel.

He claims that Paul O cried and pleaded with Kizz Daniel to attend the performance as well.

“Paul O is the one I booked Kizz from. Paul O cried all night trying to beg this guy ‘Please go to this show’,” Uwa said.

The show’s promoter claimed that despite paying Kizz Daniel $60 000 to be on the program, he still had to persuade the singer to come on stage.

“Three times, I knelt for Kizz Daniel and I beeged him,” Uwa said

He added, “I paid this guy $60, 000 to perform on this show. I went down on my knees. I was like ‘Bro, you are damaging me. I am trying to build my company here. You are going to damage me’. I begged this guy ‘Save my career, save me’.”

The artiste has been released from Tanzanian police custody and will return home, according to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission.
