Enugu hails UK for opening Visa centre in state

The Enugu State government hailed the United Kingdom Government for establishing a visa center in the state, which will streamline application processes for residents in both the state and the wider South-East region.

This commendation was conveyed in a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Chidiebere Onyia, on Monday in Enugu.

According to the statement, The establishment of the UK Visa Centre in Enugu was a request made by Governor Peter Mbah during a visit to the Government House by the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Richard Montgomery, in June.

In the state, the government expressed delight and satisfaction at the news of the visa center, saying it would further strengthen economic cooperation and cultural ties between Enugu State and the United Kingdom.

“The Enugu State Government looks forward to a strong, mutually-beneficial relationship with the UK, as the visa center would help cement the relationship.

“The government calls on the people, especially those residing in the South-East, to avail themselves of the opportunity provided to file their visa applications in the state,” the statement said.

The statement emphasized that the government is committed to enhancing security for both residents and business visitors in the state.

Furthermore, it reiterated that the state is actively welcoming business and investment.
