Dr. Ngozi Ugwanyi has been nominated as the All Progressive Grand Alliance’s deputy governorship candidate in Enugu State by Frank Nweke Jr., a former minister of information.

This was revealed in a Tuesday Twitter Space broadcast.

She is a successful businesswoman and a brilliant women leader, according to Nweke. Nweke emphasized that when the party won the state’s governorship seat in the upcoming elections, there would be a large number of female local government chairmen and leaders.

Nweke said, “I was looking for a woman of competence, a woman of character, and because of that, she will be the most active Deputy Governor in Nigeria.

“Enugu state is not working. The water crisis was not as bad as it is today. Everywhere you turn in the state, it has been taken over by filth. The level of insecurity in the state has reached its all-time high. All because of bad governance.”

He asserted that the state’s current governor had refused to emulate Dr. Micheal Okpara, a famous son of Anambra who built a strong economy for the region’s east.

“Today, not only has the government destroyed the legacy of Okpara, they have not created one (one good legacy),” he said.

He urged all minors of voting age and eligible voters to register to vote while also making a number of other promises, including the provision of sustainable housing.

Ugwuanyi thanked the governorship candidate for nominating her in her acceptance speech and noted that she would play a major part in “building the Enugu of our dreams.” Ugwanyi said, “it is inspiring to have a party that is driven by gender inclusion, people-oriented, and performance-driven.”

She declared that she, along with the candidate for governor, was ready to help lift families out of poverty and restore the state to its enviable standing among the states in the Federation.

“Together, we will return the campaign that will include women and youths. We will build a state where the family will not think of where the next meal will come from,” she said.

She urged the residents of Enugu State to get up and cast their ballots for the group that genuinely cared about them.
