Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and leader of the aggrieved Governors (G5) in the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed reports that they (G5) are planning to dump the party for another over the crisis rocking it.

Speaking about the party’s crisis, Governor Wike vowed that the G5 would stick together and continue to fight.

Wike asserts that they cannot abandon the main opposition party for armed robbers because this is the house they constructed.

In an interview with BBC Pidgin, the governor of Rivers State demanded Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, step down.

He requested Ayu’s resignation so that a person from the South could succeed him.

The PDP leader urged the party to uphold justice and equity, stating that this was their main objective.

Speaking during the interview he said;

we don’t like them, we can not leave our house for armed robbers. This is the house we built, we can not leave it for who? Peace must come. We will stay inside this house and fight.

Equity, fairness and justice, are what our party is talking about and that is what we are telling Nigerians.

Let the National Chairman of the party resign and allow the South to take over, we have not told him we want any other thing.
