Former head of state Ibrahim Babangida was the one that “democratised corruption” and corrupted the country’s democracy, Joe Igbokwe has alleged.

The chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said this in an article captioned “Why Buhari’s Case Is Different.”

He wrote in response to the statements released by former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Babangida.

They had called on Buhari not to seek another term in office come 2019.

“Former President Obasanjo wasted eight years of South West presidency and even wanted a third term. He could not find the killers of Bola Ige, Harry Marshall, Ogbonnaya Uche, Dikibo, Funsho Williams, Daramola etc.

“Those who destroyed our yesterday cannot be the ones that will control tomorrow’s potentials. This is why PMB’s case is different.”

In addition, he alleged that those who benefited from corruption were attempting to kill President Muhammadu Buhari.
