Defamation: Fani-Kayode slams N10bn suit against Sahara Reporters

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode [FFK], has filed a N10 billion lawsuit against Sahara Reporters over a report published by the New York based online news outfit, in which it was alleged that FFK’s marriage with his wife, Precious Chikwendu is at the precipice of explosion.

The controversial report was published by published by Sahara Reporters, on the 4th of January, 2018, under the caption: ” How Femi Fani-Kayode used Apostle Suleman to cover up wife abuse by claiming Buhari planned to assassinate his wife.”

It all started last week, Thursday precisely, when FFK, who is currently in his third marriage, thanked God for using controversial cleric, Johnson Suleiman, to expose the plan of the enemies against his wife.

Mr. Suleiman stated that FFK needs to pray because he saw that plans were on course to assassinate his wife when God revealed the prophecies of 2018 to him.

However, Sahara Reporters report said Mr. Fani-Kayode used that post as a means to cover up his already crashing marriage.

The report said the former minister planned to separate from wife over “infidelity”, and accused him of abusing his wife.

Mr. Fani- Kayode addressed the allegations on Twitter.

“We wish to put it on record that there is absolutely no an iota of truth in any part of that story and it is nothing but fake news”, he said in a statement Friday.

“As a matter of fact, it is a total fabrication put together by a desperate and vicious media house that seeks to destroy the lives of every member of the Fani-Kayode family.

Meanwhile,  Fani-Kayode in a confidential document made available to Newsclickng.com revealed that he has taken the battle with Sahara Reporters to a legal ground, demanding an apology and the sum of ten billion Naira (10 billion).

The said document, is a letter dated January 6, 2018 and signed by Wale Balogun (Esq), was addressed to the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore over allegations bordering on for slander, falsehood and defamation of himself and his immediate family.
