EFCC nabs 23 suspected Yahoo boys in Sokoto

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Sokoto State arrested 23 suspected internet fraudsters, also known as “Yahoo boys,” at Bafarawa Estate in the Sokoto metropolis.

Reports have it that from Bafarawa Estate, the Kalkalawa area of Sokoto was also raided after “intelligence-driven observations along with intensive close monitoring” proved that the young men were living above their means with no genuine source of income.

According to reports, the operatives arrested the young men while investigations continued.

The EFCC recovered a red Toyota Corolla 2009, a white Toyota Corolla 2015, 16 laptops, a generator, 30 phones, and two MTN routers from the suspects. Reports have it that they would be charged after investigations.
